Well my funny bone’s pointing at the high road
I get up there once in a while
But my toes knows nothing but my friends downtown
And my eye’s been lookin’ for a smile
Oh the grocery store ain’t much fun no more
Though we used to get crazy sometimes
And the street light used to make me feel alright
When there was someone there to hold you tight
Oh, Road Runner you run so slow
You’re the best damn friend that I ever did know
When the sun goes down and the bottle gets low
I’ll get up and follow you wherever you go
Well, my funny bones pointing at the high road
‘Cause my hands on the steering wheel
I’m a lookin’ for a crow ‘cause I always know
That there’s a fire that’s a burnin’ up there
Well I got no money but I got good friends
And a couple of arms and a couple of hands
And I can go up hill and back down again
But if you’re lookin for somebody probably won’t find them
Oh, Road Runner you run so slow
You’re the best damn friend that I ever did know
When the sun goes down and the bottle gets low
I’ll get up and follow you wherever you go
Well, my funny bone’s pointin’ at the high road
But there ain’t no light up there
Just the sumac trees and the cool night breeze
Guess I’ll head on down the stairs
And if you’re on the roof you’d better check the wind
‘Cause if you let ‘er rip you might pee on a friend
You can ‘pologize till the cows come in
But that’s a terrible way for our story to end
So pay attention if you’re listening
I ain’t ever gonna say it again
One plus one ain’t got no end
When you’re sittin’ by the fire with QTN
Oh, Road Runner you run so slow
You’re the best damn friend that I ever did know
When the sun goes down and the bottle gets low
I’ll get up and follow you wherever you go

The instrumentation and songwriting in this album is really top-tier. Aofie is one of my favorite folk/alt-country artists and she performs wonderfully, bringing her unique tone of voice to this project. This album was my first step into Aofie's artistry, and is firmly one of my favorite albums. rileyridgway
